Position Overview:


Fairview Health Services is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist to enhance our Respiratory Therapy team.

We are offering a substantial Sign-On Bonus for qualified candidates with relevant experience in neonatal and pediatric care.


The Respiratory Therapy department at our facility is a vibrant and expanding unit, consisting of a skilled team of professionals.

As part of a comprehensive healthcare system, the Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist plays a crucial role in the treatment and support of young patients.

We prioritize family involvement in the care process, and our specialists are essential members of the healthcare team, committed to providing family-oriented care.

The Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist is tasked with delivering diagnostic and therapeutic services as directed by a physician. This includes adhering to established treatment protocols in line with departmental policies. Responsibilities include assessing, interpreting, and intervening in the care of patients across various age groups, ensuring their safety and welfare during treatments.

Work Schedule:
This role involves a part-time commitment of 0.6 FTE (48 hours biweekly), with shifts lasting 12 hours during both day and evening hours. Weekend rotations are also part of the schedule.

Incentives for Shift Differentials:
$2.00/hr for weekend shifts

$4.00/hr for night shifts

Key Responsibilities:
As a Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

- Assessing patient needs and determining expected outcomes.
- Implementing respiratory care interventions as per the care plan.
- Evaluating patient care and responses to interventions.
- Delivering care as directed by a physician or authorized practitioner.
- Utilizing effective communication strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Operating and maintaining all respiratory care equipment.

Qualifications:
Required:
Education: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or a related field.
Licensure/Certification: Must possess a Respiratory Therapist License from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Additional Requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or a related field.
