Position Overview: Robbins Schwartz is seeking a dedicated attorney with 1-2 years of relevant experience to serve as an Associate. Our firm is committed to delivering practical and effective legal representation to various public entities, including school districts, community colleges, and municipalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a range of challenging and intricate legal tasks with a high degree of independence and minimal oversight.
  • Investigate and interpret legal principles concerning complex employment issues.
  • Compile legal research and insights into comprehensive written documents for clients, courts, or arbitrators.
  • Represent the firm’s clients in court, arbitration, or other legal proceedings, articulating well-founded arguments.
  • Review and distill complex legal documents, such as contracts, and recommend necessary modifications.
  • Manage the discovery process for both electronically stored information and physical documents in preparation for litigation.
  • Participate in discussions with clients and opposing counsel as required.
  • Engage in negotiations with external parties regarding contractual matters and legal disputes, including settlement discussions.
  • Proactively identify and address potential legal challenges for clients and within the firm, devising strategies to prevent costly litigation.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence in matters related to contracts and agreements.
  • Seek ethical resolutions to legal issues.
  • Establish and maintain trust-based relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to compliance with all applicable laws and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
  • Active admission to the bar in the relevant state.
