Associate Nuclear Engineer

At the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Multidisciplined Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Fleet Reactor Engineering Team, you will be responsible for leading evaluations of reactor operations and transients, developing analytical skills, and contributing to the development of advanced nuclear propulsion technology.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and analyze thermal hydraulic models to support reactor operations and transients
- Conduct thermal analysis of spent fuel packages and develop scripts to run models and post-process results
- Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to document analyses and communicate results to coworkers, managers, and Naval Reactors
- Contribute to the development of advanced nuclear propulsion technology and ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science-related field from an accredited college or university
- Master's degree in engineering or a science-related field from an accredited college or university (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Competitive salary range: $62,000.00 - $94,900.00 annually
