Job Summary

As a Chemical Engineer at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, you will play a critical role in the development and manufacturing of nuclear reactor cores for the U.S. Navy's submarine and aircraft carrier fleets. Our team is responsible for providing direction and oversight for the manufacture and delivery of these critical components, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our nation's naval nuclear reactors.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop expertise in manufacturing processes, technical requirements, and product cost drivers for nuclear reactor cores
* Monitor production using key process indicators and track product quality using statistical process control techniques
* Provide technical and economic engineering evaluations as required
* Collaborate with suppliers, Naval Reactors, and Prime interface organizations to ensure effective communication and coordination

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science-related field and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in engineering or a science-related field and 1 year of relevant experience
* Prior experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is preferred
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
