Clinic Appointment Coordinator

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is seeking a dedicated Scheduler to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing patient appointments and ensuring a seamless experience for our clients. The Scheduler will handle incoming communications, process new patient referrals, and manage necessary authorizations while maintaining accurate patient records.
Key Responsibilities- Directs incoming calls to the appropriate staff based on the caller's requirements, ensuring messages are relayed promptly and accurately.
- Manages the scheduling of new and returning patient appointments, including cancellations and rescheduling as needed.
- Processes all necessary authorizations and documentation related to patient referrals, ensuring accuracy in patient records.
- Coordinates outpatient appointments and testing, as well as hospital admissions when requested.
- Secures pre-certifications as required for patient services.
- Handles new patient referrals by collecting essential information and assigning account identifiers.
- Collects co-payments and other fees from patients at the time of service.
- Maintains an organized scheduling book that includes physician meetings and coverage details.
- Issues clear and accurate appointment cards to patients.
- Records instances of missed appointments and follows up with patients to reschedule.
- Facilitates patient financial counseling as necessary.
- Prepares various correspondence and documentation as requested by management.
- Assists with other front office tasks as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: At least one year of experience in an office environment, preferably within a healthcare setting.
CompensationSalary will be based on experience and qualifications.
