Job OverviewThe UXO Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and enforcing safety protocols in UXO operations, conducting safety training, and monitoring compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to UXO operations, as well as experience in conducting safety audits, training, and incident investigations.
Responsibilities and Duties- Implement and enforce safety protocols across all UXO operations, ensuring compliance with DoD and project-specific safety standards.
- Conduct safety briefings, training sessions, and risk assessments for UXO personnel.
- Monitor on-site activities to identify and mitigate safety hazards related to UXO operations.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, including risk assessments, safety plans, and incident reports.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years of experience as a UXO safety officer.
- Certifications such as UXO Technician III or IV.
- Strong understanding of safety management principles.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Teamwork – ability to foster teamwork collaboratively as a participant, and effectively as a team leader.
- Leadership – ability to guide and lead colleagues on projects and initiatives.
- Business Acumen – understanding and insight into how organizations perform, including business processes, data, systems, and people.
