Job Summary

ODU Human Resources is seeking a highly skilled Grant and Contract Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will provide assistance to coworkers in the preparation of proposals, negotiation of agreements, and daily project administration tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all administrative aspects of post-award, including budget development, compliance review, and preparation of agency application forms.
  • Ensure funding agency deadlines are met and develop a broad knowledge of sponsored programs administration on the job and through formal training.
  • Resolve contractual, administrative, and fiscal discrepancies, and propose solutions to resolve problems in consultation with mentor or other more experienced colleagues.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Requirements
  • A minimum of one or more years of related experience is required.
  • Work requires a broad knowledge in technical fields such as sponsored programs, finance, business administration, or contract administration.
  • High degree of proficiency in the use of computer applications and Microsoft Office, including Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations governing Sponsored Programs, including Uniform Guidance, FAR and DFAR clauses and export control is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CRA is highly desirable.
  • Experience in budgeting or accounting reconciliation, or related preferred.
