Job Title: Grants Manager

Join the Hampton Roads Community Foundation as a Grants Manager and play a critical role in supporting the organization's grantmaking program. As a key member of the Grantmaking team, you will be responsible for managing the acceptance and tracking of grant requests, conducting due diligence on submitted grant applications, and ensuring compliance with grantee reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the grantmaking process, including reviewing and tracking grant proposals, conducting site visits, and preparing summary reports.
  • Collaborate with program officers to ensure effective grantmaking practices and maintain accurate records of grant activity.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with grantees, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform grantmaking decisions and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Prepare and distribute grant-related correspondence, including decision letters, grant agreements, and report requests.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of grantmaking strategies and policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to grantees, stakeholders, and internal teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in grantmaking, grants management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with grantees, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relational database/CRM programs.
