About the Role:

The Financial Management Specialist will support the National Institute of Science and Technology by providing financial management expertise. The successful candidate will work closely with the program office to monitor, track, and control monetary resources and allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Provide financial management support to the program office, including budget analysis and tracking, cost performance risk assessments, and disbursement and reconciliation reporting.

  • Economic Analysis: Conduct economic analysis to inform financial decision-making, including return on investment analysis and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Return on Investment Analysis: Analyze and evaluate the return on investment for financial projects and initiatives.
  • Financial Systems and Procedures Creation: Develop and implement financial systems and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Cost/Schedule/Performance Analysis and Improvement: Analyze and improve cost, schedule, and performance metrics to ensure project success.
  • Cost Estimations and Analysis: Conduct cost estimations and analysis to inform financial decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree: preferred in accounting or finance.
  • At least three to five years of experience performing relative tasks, preference given to NIST, DOC, and federal government experience.
