Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Child Nutrition Program Assistant. This role is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of school meals, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of school meals, including setting up, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining inventory.
  • Become skilled in the use of all equipment normally used in work assignments.
  • Adhere to work schedules and work assignments, and attend work on a regular basis and on time.
  • Report work-related injuries as required, and complete records as specified.
  • Adhere to dress code requirements, and practice acceptable health habits and safe work habits.
  • Participate in in-service training opportunities offered by the local school and school systems.
  • Maintain a positive, friendly attitude in all job relationships, and assume other reasonable and equitable job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions, and to do simple mathematics.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, carry, and reach over head.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Ability to follow and pass required sanitation standards and training.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, cold, and humidity. The ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift moderately heavy cases of food is also required.
