Role Summary:

As a Senior Welding Technician at Gem Team Inc, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, utilizing your welding expertise to produce high-quality products. This position not only involves performing specialized welding tasks but also mentoring and supervising fellow welders to ensure that all projects meet our stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor welding team members, enhancing their skills and ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
  • Accurately interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
  • Conduct manual and semi-automatic welding operations, with a focus on TIG and MIG techniques.
  • Utilize a variety of welding methods for custom fabrication, structural construction, and production welding.
  • Efficiently operate electric and air tools, including plasma cutters, as required.
  • Manage materials through the Made2Manage (M2M) system to maintain workflow.
  • Assist with plasma cutting, subassembly processes, and materials handling as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, complemented by over five years of progressive welding experience (or an equivalent combination of certification and experience).
  • A thorough understanding of welding materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists is a plus.

  • Exhibits strong independence while contributing to team success.
  • Demonstrates organization, punctuality, adaptability, and professionalism in all tasks.
  • Ability to read and accurately measure using a tape measure.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This role requires a combination of standing and sitting, frequent fine motor skills, lifting moderate weights, and working indoors with exposure to loud noise and various materials in a safe manner.

Communication Skills:

Effective communication is essential. Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing, is required to maintain high levels of collaboration and service quality with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
