Job Title: Registered Nurse II

Job Summary: We are seeking a Registered Nurse II to join our Surgical Observation Unit team at the Medical University of South Carolina. As a Registered Nurse II, you will provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to patients in the Surgical Observation Unit
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve desired patient outcomes
  • Document patient information and progress in the medical record

Requirements:

  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • One year of work experience as a registered nurse

Work Environment: The Surgical Observation Unit is a 14-bed unit that cares for Phase 2 and post-op patients from the Main PACU and OR. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and provides a supportive and collaborative work environment.
