Location: La Porte, TX.

Travel Requirements: 15-20%

Role Overview:

The Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer is essential in enhancing reliability across Braskem's Texas facilities, including La Porte, Oyster Creek, and Seadrift. This position requires influencing key stakeholders, promoting reliability best practices, performing risk evaluations, and assisting project teams in ensuring dependable equipment for production. Reporting to the Equipment Excellence Leader, this role collaborates closely with the site Maintenance Group and operational units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering expert guidance on mechanical reliability challenges, including diagnosing equipment issues and recommending maintenance strategies.
  • Serving as a bridge between site maintenance and subject matter experts to implement optimal practices in asset design and upkeep.
  • Facilitating monthly Reliability Improvement Team meetings to tackle significant reliability challenges and foster enhancements.
  • Assessing risk-based degradation scenarios, identifying failure modes, and analyzing equipment failure impacts.
  • Leading Equipment Strategies, Criticality assessments, and FMEA/RCM studies.
  • Contributing to the creation of regional and global reliability reports.
  • Conducting data analysis, modeling, and analytics on failure history and operational uptime to uncover trends and enhance reliability.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of maintenance experience within the petrochemical sector.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting equipment and guiding team decision-making.
  • Expertise in reliability analysis techniques and tools, including Pareto charts and growth analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of risk scenario development, assessment, and risk-based work selection.
  • Foundational knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles and FMEA.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10 or more years of experience in Chemical, Petrochemical, or Refining environments.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as SAP, Reliasoft, and Maximo.
  • CMRP or CRE Certification.
