Role Overview:
The Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer is essential in enhancing reliability across Braskem's Texas operations, which encompass multiple sites. This position is responsible for influencing key stakeholders, promoting best practices in reliability, conducting thorough risk assessments, and assisting project teams in ensuring dependable equipment for production. Reporting to the Equipment Excellence Leader, this role collaborates closely with the Maintenance Group and operational units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering expert technical support on mechanical reliability challenges, including diagnosing equipment issues and recommending maintenance strategies.
  • Facilitating communication between site maintenance teams and subject matter experts to adopt best practices in asset management.
  • Leading monthly Reliability Improvement Team meetings to tackle critical reliability challenges and foster enhancements.
  • Analyzing risk-based degradation scenarios, identifying failure modes, and assessing equipment failure impacts.
  • Overseeing Equipment Strategies, Criticality assessments, and FMEA/RCM analyses.
  • Contributing to the creation of regional and global reliability reports.
  • Conducting data analysis, modeling, and analytics on failure history and uptime to uncover trends and bolster reliability.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of maintenance experience within the petrochemical sector.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting equipment and facilitating team decision-making processes.
  • Expertise in reliability analysis methodologies and tools, including Pareto charts and growth analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of risk scenario development and risk-based work selection.
  • Familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles and FMEA.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in Chemical, Petrochemical, or Refining environments.
  • Experience with software tools such as SAP, Reliasoft, and Maximo.
  • CMRP or CRE Certification.
