Position Overview:

We're seeking a dedicated Caregiver for Retirees to join our team, where you'll play a vital role in providing person-centered care and support to retirees within our retirement services program. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about ensuring the well-being and comfort of our retired residents during their leisure time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision, assistance, and support to retirees with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Monitor and respond to any medical or behavioral needs following established protocols, demonstrating proficiency in crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Promote a positive and empowering atmosphere, encouraging social interaction, participation in leisure activities, and providing emotional support to retirees.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and advocate for the well-being and rights of retirees.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of resident care, incidents, and interventions, demonstrating strong attention to detail and adherence to reporting procedures.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with IDD or in a similar caregiving role preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and compassionate in challenging situations, demonstrating proficiency in behavioral support and crisis intervention.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures, including medication administration if applicable.
