Position Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Lead, the Electrical and Instrumentation Technician plays a crucial role in delivering technical support and expertise to the Maintenance & Engineering team at Angelini Pharma US. This position focuses on providing mechanical, electrical, and automation assistance within a regulated environment.

Work Schedule

This role operates on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical knowledge to serve as the primary resource for support on power and automation systems, including their operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; recommend corrective actions and long-term solutions.
  • Address production-related electrical and automated equipment issues promptly.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with electrical controls and mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Assist in the installation and upgrades of new equipment.
  • Install and verify the functionality of mechanical and electrical components and wiring systems.
  • Carry out instrument calibration for the facility.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) while executing work schedules and providing operational support.
  • Complete additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Two to three years of experience in a technical or manufacturing setting.
  • Technical degree in Electrical/Controls or a related engineering/technical field preferred.
  • Operational knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and inspection protocols, along with proficiency in using electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeter, clamp-on meter, megger).
  • Intermediate understanding of PLC programming, schematic wiring, ladder logic, and P&ID process diagrams.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with RSLogix 5 and 500.
  • Proficient in Studio 5000 and Factory Talk.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and Servo Systems.
  • Familiarity with AC & DC Drives and HMI Controls (e.g., Panelview, Wonderware).
  • Experience with vision inspection systems and ultrasonic sealing equipment.
  • Basic understanding of facility utility systems (e.g., chillers, cooling towers, air compressors).
  • Knowledge of converting and packaging equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Able to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and logic schematics.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis for problem identification and resolution.
