Pediatric Urology Clinical Coordinator Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Coordinator to join our Pediatric Urology team at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. This is a full-time position responsible for providing nursing leadership and oversight for the pediatric urology patient care population.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and other health professionals to develop and review standards of care for pediatric urology patients.
  • Coordinate patient care between multiple disciplines within the UIHC and community settings, including home health agencies, referring physicians, and other community support services.
  • Facilitate care of pediatric urology patients requiring admission, coordinating necessary admission procedures, pre and post procedure care.
  • Operate autonomously in communicating with members of the healthcare team, directing patient care, and providing continuity of care across settings throughout the phases of care.
  • Perform telephone triage of patient calls to the Urology service and facilitate medication refills as needed.
  • Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and other health professionals in planning, delivering, and evaluating care for specialty patient populations.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Current License to practice Nursing.
  • 1-3 years of pediatric nursing experience.
  • Previous experience coordinating/scheduling patient visits.
  • Demonstrated experience of coordinating care along the healthcare continuum.
  • Demonstrated experience in patient education.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates leadership and training skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills (i.e. word, excel, powerpoint, access).
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA), or Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP) is encouraged.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pediatric urology.
  • Professional nursing certification.
  • Familiarity with UIHC and ambulatory clinic workflows.

This is a 100% FTE position with a Monday-Friday schedule, 8 hour shifts between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. No holidays, no weekends.
