Key Responsibilities

Your Role:
We have an immediate opening for an Aviation Project Engineer/Project Manager in our Pennsylvania offices. This role involves managing and executing aviation design, rehabilitation, and construction projects, along with overseeing the development of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.

Additional responsibilities may include providing construction management services. You will receive project assignments from our Airport and Civil Engineering Group Management, which may require travel across the continental United States and potentially internationally.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
• Supervise Aviation or Civil Engineering personnel involved in project completion.
• Engage with subconsultants to negotiate project scopes and fees.
• Follow directives from senior management regarding expected outcomes.

• Ensure the precision of engineering designs, reports, calculations, plans, and adherence to budgets and schedules.

• Keep the Senior Project Manager updated on workload and any project changes or additional service needs.

• Maintain professional expertise through workshops, publications, networking, and professional societies.
• Mentor junior staff members.
• Assist in the preparation of business proposals.
• Be prepared for travel within the continental United States and limited international travel.

Qualifications

Your Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, focusing on highways, general civil, or construction management from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Aviation or Highway Project Design and Management.

• Proven experience in overseeing various Aviation, Highway, or General Civil Engineering Projects and managing necessary staff.

• Familiarity with FAA and State Aviation Grant Requirements.
• Proficient in reading plans, shop drawings, and assessing contractor compliance with construction specifications.
• Team-oriented engineer with strong communication abilities.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
• Willingness to travel domestically.

• Physically capable of conducting fieldwork, including negotiations with contractors and airport management, and working in various weather conditions.

• Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess an aviation engineering background, proficiency in AutoCAD, and experience with FAA Advisory Circulars and relevant state aviation agencies.

• Local candidates are preferred, and experience with specific regional aviation offices is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
• A Professional Civil Engineer's License in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain one through reciprocity is required, with licensing in other mid-Atlantic states being a plus.
