Responsibilities

Your Role:
We have an immediate opening for an Aviation Project Engineer/Project Manager in our Pennsylvania offices.

This role involves managing and executing aviation design, rehabilitation, and construction projects, as well as overseeing the creation of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.

Additional responsibilities may include providing construction management services. You will receive project assignments from our Airport and Civil Engineering Group Management, which may require travel within the continental United States and potentially internationally.
Key Duties:
  • Supervise Aviation or Civil Engineering personnel involved in project completion.
  • Engage with subconsultants to negotiate project scopes and fees.
  • Receive guidance from senior management regarding expected outcomes.
  • Ensure the accuracy of engineering designs, reports, calculations, and plans, while adhering to budgets and schedules.
  • Keep the Senior Project Manager updated on workload and any changes in project timelines or scopes.
  • Enhance professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
  • Mentor junior staff members.
  • Assist in the preparation of business proposals.
  • Be prepared for travel within the continental United States and limited international travel.

Qualifications

Your Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on highways, general civil, or construction management from an accredited institution is required.

A minimum of 8 years of experience in Aviation or Highway Project Design and Management is essential.

Experience in overseeing various types of Aviation, Highway, or General Civil Engineering Projects is necessary, along with the ability to manage the required staff.

Familiarity with FAA and State Aviation Grant Requirements is important.

Candidates should have experience in interpreting plans, shop drawings, and assessing contractor compliance with construction specifications.

We seek a team-oriented engineer with excellent communication skills and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.

Willingness to travel within the continental United States is a must.

Physical capability to perform fieldwork, including interactions with contractors and airport management, is required.

A valid Driver's License is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have a background in Aviation engineering, knowledge of AutoCAD, and experience with FAA Advisory Circulars.

Experience with local aviation authorities and a Professional Civil Engineer's License in PA or the ability to obtain one through reciprocity is highly regarded.


Work Environment:


The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts and varying weather conditions.

Noise levels can vary, particularly in construction and field settings.

Employees may be required to stand, walk, and drive, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust focus.
