Position Summary:

The Senior Vice President of Resident Care Services is responsible for overseeing the entire portfolio, providing clinical leadership, process optimization, and strategic management. This role collaborates closely with Regional Nursing staff to deliver essential support and direction to Executive Directors and Resident Care Directors across various communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicates with the Chief Operating Officer regarding significant concerns, risks, and incidents within the portfolio, ensuring thorough investigation and follow-up.
  • Leads the formulation and execution of new policies and procedures that comply with corporate and external regulatory standards, ensuring that care and services provided to residents are clinically sound and efficient.
  • Establishes and maintains compliance with safety and clinical standards for assisted living and memory support services.
  • Develops and oversees the company's quality assurance initiatives, creating benchmarks and monitoring systems to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Ensures compliance with resident rights policies and actively works to address and resolve resident complaints.
  • Analyzes resident care data and participates as a member of the leadership team, contributing to the strategic direction and management of clinical strategies and resident engagement.
  • Assists in formulating action plans to mitigate liability and risks identified during compliance surveys.
  • Engages in State and Federal surveys and compliance investigations, reporting findings to the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Provides support to communities in identifying trends and developing corrective action plans to address issues.
  • Conducts site visits to offer supervision, clinical expertise, and ensure effective communication while monitoring the overall operation of clinical services.
  • Reviews potential resident move-outs and assesses potential move-in denials prior to any communication with prospective residents or their families.
  • Delivers in-service training and orientation to community staff regarding compliance, risk management, and performance improvement.
  • Participates in clinical assessments of residents as necessary.
  • Audits care assessments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Involved in the recruitment and onboarding process for community Director positions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Supervises and supports Executive Directors and Assistant Executive Directors in assigned communities.
  • Oversees Department Heads across all community departments within the assigned locations.
  • Maintains ongoing compliance with relevant local, state, federal, and regulatory standards, ensuring readiness for inspections through regular audits and updates of policies and procedures.
  • Encourages staff involvement in daily operations and decision-making, fostering team building through regular meetings and providing continuous support and feedback on job performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of nursing experience.
  • At least five (5) years of nursing management experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in operating states.
  • Experience in assisted living, home health, or long-term care sectors.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong teamwork abilities, and positive community relations skills. Excellent grammar and punctuation. Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate effectively and make informed decisions. Proficient in time management to complete tasks efficiently. Capable of working under pressure, resolving conflicts, prioritizing tasks, and following through on initiatives. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Professional and personable demeanor.
  • While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, climb stairs, push wheelchairs, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, reach with hands, and assist residents with transfers.
