Position Summary:

The Senior Vice President of Resident Care Services plays a pivotal role in overseeing the clinical operations across the entire portfolio. This leadership position provides essential guidance and support to Executive Directors and Resident Care Directors, ensuring that all communities adhere to the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicates with the Chief Operating Officer regarding significant concerns and events, ensuring thorough investigation and follow-up.
  • Leads the creation and execution of new policies and procedures that comply with corporate and regulatory standards, ensuring optimal care and operational efficiency.
  • Establishes and maintains safety and clinical standards for assisted living and memory support services.
  • Develops and manages a comprehensive quality assurance program, including benchmarks and monitoring measures for compliance.
  • Ensures adherence to resident rights policies and actively works to address any resident grievances.
  • Analyzes resident care data and collaborates with the leadership team to guide strategic clinical initiatives and resident engagement activities.
  • Coordinates action plans to mitigate liability and risks identified during compliance surveys.
  • Engages in State and Federal surveys and compliance investigations, reporting findings to the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Assists communities in identifying trends and developing corrective action plans.
  • Conducts site visits to provide oversight, clinical expertise, and to ensure effective communication within the clinical services department.
  • Reviews potential move-outs and move-in denials prior to communication with residents or families.
  • Facilitates in-service training and orientation for community staff on various compliance and performance improvement topics.
  • Participates in clinical reviews of residents as necessary.
  • Audits care assessments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Involved in the recruitment and onboarding of community Director positions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Supervises and supports Executive Directors and Assistant Executive Directors within assigned communities.
  • Oversees Department Heads across all community departments in the assigned areas.
  • Maintains compliance with local, state, federal, and accrediting body standards, ensuring readiness for inspections through regular audits.
  • Encourages staff engagement in daily operations and decision-making, fostering team building through regular meetings and ongoing support.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of nursing experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in nursing management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in relevant operating states.
  • Experience in assisted living, home health, or long-term care settings.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and community relations. Excellent grammar and punctuation skills are essential.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively and make informed decisions. Demonstrates effective time management and organizational skills.
