Position Overview Are you an accounting expert with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for numbers? We are seeking a Financial Operations Specialist to become a vital part of our dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating with a diverse group of professionals. You will play a crucial role in our finance department, handling responsibilities that include managing accounts payable and receivable, freight billing, and reconciling the general ledger. This position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills and significantly influence our company's financial operations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring precision and promptness.
  • Prepare and process Bill of Lading, oversee freight billing, and liaise with transportation and logistics teams.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliation tasks to guarantee all financial data is accurate and current.
  • Execute 3-way match for invoices to ensure precise billing and payment.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and report generation, employing tools such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to financial transactions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, highlighting any significant issues or trends.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, freight billing, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with the transportation and logistics industry is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
