Your Role:

As a key member of our Summer Camp team, you will facilitate the operation of a summer camp program designed for individuals with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include overseeing camp counselors and participants during overnight hours, as well as guiding the work of other counselors scheduled for the night shift. Your interpersonal skills will be vital in fostering strong professional relationships with both your colleagues and the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision and support to participants during overnight hours at the summer camp.
  • Encourage safe overnight experiences for participants through positive behavioral support.
  • Remain alert and awake overnight, notifying scheduled staff when additional assistance is required.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including incident reports and activity logs, with factual and descriptive information.
  • Assist participants with their overnight personal care and hygiene needs as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: 1-2 years of college education.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in special education, psychology, recreation, or therapy is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is essential.
  • Ability to supervise individuals with disabilities in a residential summer camp setting is required.
  • Capability to guide the work of others when assistance is needed.
