Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Counselor to join our team at Chesterfield County. As a Youth Counselor, you will be responsible for supervising youth in community service activities, preparing meals, and transporting youth to and from activities. You will also be responsible for completing documentation and activity reports, as well as performing other work as required. This is a part-time position, approximately 16 hours per week, with a shift that includes at least two Saturdays per month. Some evenings during the summer months may be required. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise youth in community service activities
  • Prepare and serve meals
  • Transport youth to and from activities
  • Complete documentation and activity reports
  • Perform other work as required
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College degree preferred
  • Three years of experience in working with children or teenage groups
  • Ability to counsel socially and emotionally maladjusted youth
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and exercise good judgment in non-routine situations
  • Must be able to complete First Aid/CPR training and Handle with Care Restraint training
  • Current valid driver's license and good driving record required
