Job Summary

FM Global is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Consultant to join our team. As a Risk Management Consultant, you will be responsible for conducting risk assessments and consulting with clients on fire, explosion, and natural hazard risks to help them neutralize potential disasters and save property and businesses.

This is a challenging role that requires strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. You will work independently and be responsible for managing field, office, and project work for clients within a wide range of industries.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years' experience in loss prevention and a strong understanding of industrial loss prevention. Familiarity with climate resiliency is a plus. You will be expected to work independently and be willing to operate from a home office. An average of 25-35% overnight travel is expected.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct risk assessments and consult with clients on fire, explosion, and natural hazard risks
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients and help them identify, quantify, and reduce risks to their business
  • Advise on property protection and develop solutions supported by FM Global's extensive research base and unique scientific expertise
  • Manage field, office, and project work for clients within a wide range of industries
  • Work independently and be responsible for achieving risk improvement by ensuring client understanding, consulting to reach client agreements, and executing follow-ups until completion
Requirements
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, civil, electrical, fire protection)
  • Minimum of 2-5 years' experience in loss prevention
  • Familiarity with industrial loss prevention
  • Interest in climate resiliency a plus
  • An eagerness to learn across a broad range of industries and types of hazards
  • Good analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Independent and focused within a home office environment, with strong planning and time management skills with minimal supervision
  • Results driven and self-motivated
  • Solid technical aptitude including diverse knowledge of engineering principles
  • Strong verbal and written English communications skills
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Physically able to lift 25 pounds, able to climb ladders, and experience heights
  • Authorization to work in the US
  • Valid driver's license

The salary range for this position is $78,500 to $115,000, and the final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
