Job Summary

FM Global is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our risk management team, you will be responsible for conducting risk assessments and consulting with clients to help neutralize potential disasters.

This is a unique opportunity to work with some of the world's most influential organizations, helping them understand risk and protect their assets. You will work hands-on with clients to develop sound loss prevention recommendations and manage the exposures inherent to their physical property business processes.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in the pulp and paper industry, with a strong background in chemical, mechanical, or fire protection engineering. Familiarity with professional organizations such as TAPPI, BLRBAC, and AF&PA is preferred.

As a Consultant Engineer II, you will be expected to work independently and be willing to operate from a home office. An average of 25-40% overnight travel is expected, dependent on geography.

The salary range for this position is $78,500 to $115,000, with opportunities for growth and development within the company. Responsibilities
  • Conduct risk assessments and consult with clients to help neutralize potential disasters
  • Develop sound loss prevention recommendations and manage the exposures inherent to clients' physical property business processes
  • Work independently and operate from a home office
  • Travel up to 40% of the time, dependent on geography
  • Collaborate with clients to develop mutual, tailored, long-term and short-term risk improvement strategies
Requirements
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or fire protection engineering
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in the pulp and paper industry
  • Familiarity with professional organizations such as TAPPI, BLRBAC, and AF&PA
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Independent and focused within a home office environment
  • Results-driven and self-motivated
  • Solid technical aptitude, including diverse knowledge of engineering principles
  • Strong verbal and written English communications skills
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Physically able to lift 25 pounds, able to climb ladders, and experience heights
  • Authorization to work in the US
  • Valid driver's license
