Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, select, and procure products and services that meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Negotiate and communicate optimal programs available through suppliers and vendors.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to ensure accurate ordering and stock replenishment across all locations.
  • Analyze sales data and gross profit contributions for each category and individual product performance.
  • Contribute to the design of floor plans and merchandise placement in both new and existing locations.

  • Stay updated on new products and industry trends through competitive store visits and vendor interactions.
  • Collaborate with vendors to reduce costs and enhance margins within assigned categories.
  • Develop and implement promotional programs, advertising, and point-of-sale materials in partnership with vendors, ensuring effective communication and execution at the store level.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of promotional activities within assigned categories.
  • Conduct competitive market surveys and adjust retail strategies based on findings.
  • Create and implement product plan-o-grams based on thorough category analysis.
  • Coordinate with all departments to ensure successful implementation of marketing initiatives.
  • Execute sales, margin, and inventory strategies to meet corporate objectives.
  • Participate in merchandising meetings, presenting reports and analyses, discussing challenges and action items.
  • Assist with supply chain functions as necessary.
  • Visit stores regularly to assess plan-o-gram integrity and review product assortments with management.
  • Provide guidance to Category Specialists on pricing, costing, and vendor relations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability in attendance.

Additional Duties:
Assume other responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role does not entail supervisory duties.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Marketing, or relevant experience and training, with a minimum of 4 years in Purchasing or Category Management is required.
