Scope of the Position:


The Production Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing manufacturing processes to guarantee that production runs safely, efficiently, and punctually. This role involves managing production schedules and assigning daily work tasks based on operational requirements and individual strengths. A hands-on approach is essential, providing direct support for all team members on a daily basis. This individual will champion product/process safety, quality, delivery, and team morale. Additionally, they will be accountable for the continuous enhancement of the assigned department, alongside the training and development of direct reports. This facility operates on a three-shift schedule.

Responsibilities:


All tasks must be executed in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to Company Policy, as well as Local, Provincial, and/or Federal regulations, and applicable Collective Agreements.


Effectively communicates, trains, guides, and mentors employees to achieve operational goals that enhance team performance in the production of high-quality products.

Develops and supports junior supervisors. Evaluates interpersonal skills, provides constructive feedback, and recommends methods for improving communication among team members.

Schedules and allocates personnel based on the demands of the production schedule.


Continuously assesses equipment capacity and material supply limitations to optimize personnel adjustments for maximizing manufacturing output.

Evaluates each employee's skills and abilities to align them with the requirements of various areas on the production floor.

Regularly monitors and tracks output, manufacturing processes, labor efficiencies, direct operating costs, and quality metrics for assigned cost centers.

Measures performance and quality metrics.

Drives positive outcomes in operational Key Performance Indicators.

Establishes and nurtures collaborative relationships with other departments, such as Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, Planning, and Quality, to meet production targets.

Meets formally with the Management Team to review production outcomes and prioritize improvement initiatives.

Performs additional related tasks as assigned.


The incumbent is responsible for understanding and managing the Environmental Management System (EMS) as outlined in EMS policy CEVPL.00005.


Qualifications:
1-3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations, Labor Laws

Skills in Conflict Resolution, Time Management.

Strong communication, presentation, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.

Proficient in computer applications.

Effective use of technology, tools, and information systems.

Ability to foster a team-oriented environment.

Capability to provide guidance and direction as needed.

Ability to set objectives, make decisions, and supervise operations with minimal oversight.

Solid proficiency in computer applications and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.

Willingness to support operations during off shifts as necessary.

Ability to achieve business results both independently and through team collaboration.
