North America Sales Manager

The North America Sales Manager will be responsible for developing the sales of a range of specialty additives for the surface coatings industry. This role involves managing an extensive distribution network and direct contacts with key accounts at all levels.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the surface coatings industry and be able to build strong relationships with customers while maintaining PQ's interests and goals as a top priority.
The NA Sales Manager will report directly to the Global Business Director - Surface Coatings and will be responsible for identifying strategic accounts and maintaining accurate account and contact data.
The role requires a proactive leadership approach, with a focus on increasing sales value and profitability. The successful candidate will have a sound working knowledge of distributor business fundamentals and be able to negotiate supply contracts within the framework defined by the management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase sales value and profitability
- Manage an extensive distribution network and direct contacts with key accounts
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and distributors
- Provide commercial and technical support to distributors
- Negotiate supply contracts and promote new products and applications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g. Chemical engineering, Mechanical engineering or Chemistry)
- At least 3 years of technical sales experience
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Self-driven with a proven commercial track record and a high level of commercial acumen
- Positive and self-motivated
- Capable of working both independently and as a team player
- Embraces change in all business aspects including emerging industry trends, new technology, and innovative ideas
