Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in San Francisco, California.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Director, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. The successful candidate will utilize efficient and safe processes to perform related technological functions, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce images of organs on photographic film.
  • Prepare stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses under the supervision of a physician.
  • Measure radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
  • Calibrate equipment and follow radiation safety techniques in the use and disposal of radioactive materials.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be certified by the State of California and may be registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Basic Life Support certification
