Position Overview:

The Lead Financial Accountant plays a pivotal role within the finance department, holding significant responsibilities and visibility to senior management, including the Director of Financial Reporting and the CFO. The ideal candidate will act as a financial advisor to operational teams, providing essential financial insights, ensuring adherence to loan covenants, and supporting the Assistant Controller with daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of the closing and reporting processes, including journal entry preparation, general ledger account reconciliation, and variance analysis of financial statements.
  • Assist in preparing monthly consolidated financial statements, focusing on intercompany account reconciliations and necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
  • Utilize accounting principles to analyze financial data and generate reports.
  • Research accounting regulations and document company policies, coordinating the implementation of accounting controls.
  • Prepare compliance certificates for loans.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of internal controls.
  • Recommend enhancements to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Prepare audit schedules for external audits and collaborate with auditors.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including maintaining schedules and calculating depreciation.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and relevant regulations.
  • Work with tax consultants on tax-related matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including special projects and reporting requests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Three to five years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements is preferred.
  • Background in audit, public accounting, or internal audit is advantageous.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industrial services or distribution operations is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP and GL systems is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.
