Job Title: Youth Specialist

At Burrell Behavioral Health, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Residential Services team, you will play a vital role in supporting the growth and development of youth and young adults in foster care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to program expectations and rules, reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
  • Participate in the treatment team to identify client strengths, needs, and preferences.
  • Document and report exceptional behavior and areas of concern related to client interactions.
  • Assist clients with daily activities as needed.
  • Monitor client activities and document progress or behavior.
  • Ensure all clients are accounted for and precaution protocols are followed.
  • Provide client transportation as needed.
  • Adhere to medication policies and work with nursing staff to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain a standard of behavior consistent with agency expectations and program philosophy.
  • Complete mandatory training within the required timeframe.
  • Attend staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and training sessions as requested.

Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent and two years of responsible employment history.
  • Successful completion of background checks, including criminal record, driving record, and abuse/neglect.
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation within 30 days of employment.
  • All training requirements, including Relias Learning, within two weeks of employment and annually thereafter.
  • First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter.
  • CPR certification within 30 days of beginning employment and upon renewal date.
  • Behavioral Management training completed within 30 days of employment or first available class after start date.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull objects, including the human body.
