Position Summary: The Mechanical Project Engineer will be an integral part of the Construction Department, reporting directly to the Project Superintendent, as well as collaborating with MEP and Project Managers. This role involves close interaction with design professionals, clients, and subcontractors to resolve complex coordination challenges. The Project Engineer will primarily work on-site, contributing to the success of the project.

Salary Range: $82,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate meetings with area managers, design team members, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Act as a liaison between area managers and subcontractors to address field coordination issues.
  • Interpret design documents, technical manuals, and quantify materials needed for construction.
  • Coordinate mechanical components within the overall project design.
  • Organize training sessions for client personnel on the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Review and process submittals, ensuring accuracy and functionality of all components.
  • Generate and manage requests for information (RFI).
  • Distribute change documents issued by team members.
  • Conduct field surveys for layout control lines and benchmarks.
  • Serve as the technical advisor at the on-site construction office.
  • Coordinate civil, architectural, structural, and MEP systems within the project design.
Qualifications:

Position Related Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and familiar with project management software.
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and specifications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with various trades and crafts on-site.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project needs.
Professional Experience and Education:
  • A minimum of three years of experience in commercial construction.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to balance time between office work and site visits.
  • Capable of climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Proficient in using office machinery and tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English regarding project-related matters.
  • Must be able to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
