Overview

Halifax Health – Medical Center of Port Orange seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as a Charge RN in our busy Free Standing Emergency Department. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Summary

The Charge RN provides supervision and leadership to the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of safe, competent, and compassionate care to patients. This role involves completing staffing assignments, participating in hourly rounding, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be a skilled communicator, able to effectively lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Complete staffing assignments and participate in hourly rounding to ensure patient satisfaction and staff engagement
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, including safety protocols and infection control measures
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in patient care

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field, or enrollment in a BSN program
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience, with at least 1 year in a charge or leadership role
  • Specialty certification, such as ACLS or PALS, may be required depending on department needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, Halifax Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
