Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Neighborhood Code Specialist I to join our team at the City of Norfolk Virginia. This role is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute their skills and expertise in community development, urban planning, and code enforcement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement effective strategies for community engagement, outreach, and education on municipal codes and regulations.
  2. Analyze data and trends to inform policy decisions and improve code enforcement practices.
  3. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and community groups, to resolve code-related issues and concerns.
  4. Provide training and guidance to city staff on code interpretation and enforcement procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Community Development, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in community development, urban planning, or code enforcement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and policies.
