Career Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Grant Development Specialist to join our team at Norfolk, Virginia Headquarters. The successful candidate will work remotely/hybrid basis depending on qualifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with our team and external partners to plan, write, and edit research grants for submission to federal agencies, state, county foundations.
- Research, identify, prepare, and submit required documentation for grant funding opportunities. This includes meeting with stakeholders to produce reports/content, establishing relationships with internal and external partners in research, and working with the team to produce any required reports/follow-up documentation for awarded grants.
- Collaborate with PI and research staff to resolve issues concerning proposal submission.
- Prepare statements of work, logic models, timelines, and budgets for grant applications.
- Maintain a grant proposal-tracking system to ensure timely submission of proposals and accurate records of proposals.
- Work with our Science Director in allocating resources and managing timelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5 years of grant writing experience preferably in healthcare and research focus.
- Demonstrated track record of securing new funding opportunities; comprehensive knowledge of research, and ability to distinguish opportunities.
- Previous grant budget development and management experience.
- Knowledge of federal regulations, funding policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, federal, and university regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Google documents.
- Solid understanding of clinical or social research.
- Excellent writing and verbal skills.
Salary
$85,000 - $105,000 per annum based on qualifications and location.
