Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior RF Engineer to join our team as a Principal Engineer, RF PLL Design. This is a key role that will involve leading the design and development of custom RF, analog, and mixed signal IPs for our SoC products.
Key Responsibilities:- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to a team of cross-functional engineers in the development of novel SoC products for connectivity and communications.
- Design and Development: Lead the design and development of high-performance RF frequency synthesizers in advanced CMOS processes, including hands-on contribution to all aspects of the design.
- Supervision and Collaboration: Supervise layout activities, perform post-layout LPE simulations and analysis, and work closely with RF, analog, digital, test, and firmware design engineers.
- Presentations and Communication: Present technical information to peers and management, and work with the System Engineers to derive block-level specifications based on target product requirements.
- Simulation and Analysis: Run behavioral model simulations to study system performance and drive block-level specifications, and partner with the System and Digital Engineers to design and validate methods and algorithms to alleviate circuit impairments.
- Test and Validation: Assist Test Engineers in the design of comprehensive test plans, including defining, developing, and ramping up production ATE solutions, and participate in post-silicon bring-up, detailed performance characterization, optimization, and debug.
- Education: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with a Ph.D. preferred.
- Experience: 12+ years of hands-on experience in high-performance RF, Analog and Mixed Signal IC design in advanced CMOS processes.
- Technical Skills: Excellent technical knowledge of RF CMOS fundamentals and transistor-level design and implementation of sigma-delta fractional-N RF PLLs, good understanding of loop design optimization for PN/jitter, spurs, locking time, area, etc.
- Design and Development: Hands-on experience in transistor-level design of RF Frequency Synthesizer related circuits, familiarity with RF device modeling, including inductor EM simulation, packaging effects, ESD structures, and supply isolation.
- IC Layout and Design Flow: Good familiarity with IC layout, full IC design flow and verification.
- Soft Skills: Strong intuitive, analytical, and problem-solving skills, strong initiative, attention-to-detail, highly organized, and personal commitment to quality.
- Tools and Software: Proficiency in using various development tools: Cadence Virtuoso suite, EMX, Calibre, PVS, Matlab, MS Office, etc.
- IoT and Wireless Experience: Direct experience in IoT, WiFi and Bluetooth products, circuits, and systems.
- RF VCO and PLL Designs: Direct experience in wide tuning range RF VCO and RF PLL designs.
