Role Summary:

As a Manufacturing Engineer III, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing manufacturing processes by evaluating product specifications and developing efficient methodologies. Your expertise will be crucial in collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, test, and implement effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating comprehensive Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) that include detailed assembly instructions, workflow processes, labor standards, and tool designs.
  • Providing ongoing support to manufacturing operations by troubleshooting processes and integrating engineering modifications into MDPs.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and corrective action for non-conforming materials.
  • Leading initiatives for Continuous Improvement to optimize cycle times, enhance ergonomics for assembly personnel, and reduce costs using Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Offering real-time technical assistance to both in-house manufacturers and external suppliers.
  • Developing tools and fixtures that enhance ergonomic practices within production processes.
  • Overseeing corrective action investigations to ensure issues do not recur.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants typically should possess a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in engineering or manufacturing.

Additionally, candidates must have:

  • The capability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with technical drawing interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably CREO/ProE.
  • A demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to collaborate across various disciplines.
  • An innovative mindset focused on continuous improvement and technological advancements.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are advantageous:

  • Current security clearance from the Department of Defense.
  • Experience with automated tooling and machinery programming.
  • Familiarity with refurbishment and repair processes for Government Furnished Material (GFM).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word.
