We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer III to join our team at Sargent Aerospace & Defense. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical systems and components for the aerospace and defense industries.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical systems and components using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
- Perform stress analysis, tolerance analysis, and fatigue analysis to ensure the integrity and reliability of our products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and sales, to ensure that our products meet customer requirements and are delivered on time.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve our products and processes.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in the aerospace and defense industries.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as Pro/Engineer or CREO, and other engineering tools.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with hydraulic component design and/or manufacture and test.
- Knowledge of metal forming and manufacturing methods and processes.
- Proficiency in DMAIC (or equivalent) problem-solving methodology.
