Position Overview

The Plumbing Operations Manager will oversee the planning, direction, and coordination of activities related to the construction and upkeep of plumbing systems and structures. This role involves participating in the initial development of project concepts and managing their organization, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise plumbing technicians and assistants, including involvement in hiring, disciplinary actions, scheduling, and prioritizing work.
  • Conduct regular technician meetings, provide counseling and training, complete time sheets, evaluate performance, and oversee work assignments to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with supervisory staff, clients, technicians, or design professionals to address and resolve issues related to work procedures, complaints, or job site challenges.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate plumbing project activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking documentation.
  • Inspect projects to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Direct activities related to the installation or maintenance of plumbing systems and facilities.
  • Analyze job specifications to determine the most effective methods of action.
  • Investigate any damage, accidents, or delays at job sites to ensure adherence to proper procedures.
  • Negotiate contract revisions with consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Adapt plans in response to unforeseen delays, adverse weather, or emergencies at job sites.
  • Interpret and clarify plans and contract terms to clients and administrative staff.
  • Conduct prebuilding assessments, including cost estimating and feasibility studies.
  • Obtain necessary permits or licenses for projects.
  • Evaluate installation and repair methods for cost-effectiveness using computer models.
  • Oversee the work of plumbing technicians and helpers.
  • Determine labor needs for job site dispatching.
  • Order supplies or materials required for project completion.
  • Revise methods to achieve departmental quotas.
  • Review payroll records to ensure accurate technician compensation.
  • Enforce safety and company regulations during all operations.
  • Inspire and motivate technicians to maximize productivity; coach and develop their skills for improved performance.

Operation of a company vehicle is expected to be conducted safely.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
