Job Title: Product Development Specialist

Job Summary:

The Product Development Specialist is a key member of the NFI Parts team, responsible for identifying new product and program opportunities, preparing business cases, developing go-to-market plans, and executing strategies to increase market share and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market analysis to identify requirements for current and future programs and products, utilizing sales intelligence and industry sources.
  • Prepare business case data for opportunities related to new programs or product offerings, presenting recommendations for implementation to stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and processes related to business development growth initiatives, including project management.
  • Present project status and milestones to multi-functional leadership groups to gain approvals to proceed, prioritize, and implement.
  • Conduct analysis of product lines and categories to determine the optimum portfolio to serve NFI's customer base and maximize profits.
  • Serve as the primary conduit between Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Procurement, Inventory Planning, Pricing, and Operations on new business opportunities.
  • Act as the subject matter expert to provide support for Marketing & Sales to deliver internal & external training, marketing collateral, launch materials, and other activities supporting a successful launch.
  • Travel to attend trade shows, customer locations, and supplier sites as required to drive business growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of business development, new product development, or product line management experience in transportation, automotive, truck, bus, or heavy-duty aftermarket parts or equipment.
  • Strong market research and analysis, business case development, and data analysis skills.
  • Project management experience, including cross-functional teams.
  • Product line management experience.
  • Experience understanding customer and industry trends, parts cross-referencing, and strategic sourcing opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as autonomously.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Strategic thinking.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
