Job Summary

We are seeking an Admissions Specialist to join our team at Jefferson Center for Mental Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating admissions for our Crisis Stabilization Unit, ensuring efficient and customer-friendly processes for children, youth, parents, and referral sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate timely admission decisions and admissions for the Crisis Stabilization Unit, promoting safe and appropriate admissions while maximizing capacity.
  • Greet clients and visitors, obtain necessary information, process payments, and facilitate signing of consents.
  • Answer multi-line phones, direct callers to the appropriate party, and handle needs directly, demonstrating courteous and professional communication.
  • Serve as admissions liaison between stakeholders to facilitate efficient communication and problem-solving activities.
  • Acquire pre-authorization, collect insurance information, and verify Medicaid eligibility.
  • Enter client information into electronic medical records, provide accurate billing information, and schedule transport as needed.
  • Assemble client charts, distribute intake information, and complete Census Reports.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and information on admissions status to clinical team members.
  • Maintain strong customer service, supporting children, youth, and parents in crisis.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the admission process and communicate these to the Admissions Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Medical Assistant Certifications preferred.
  • Experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, insurance verification, and billing.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and provide exceptional customer service.
Compensation

Salary Grade 49- High School/GED $25.00-$30.00 hour depending on shift. Salary Grade 50- Bachelor's Degree $30.00 to $35.00 hour depending on shift.
