Job Summary

We are currently hiring Part-Time Security Officers for a hospital in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. This is a great entry-level opportunity with a competitive hourly rate of $17.57.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Provide security and safety services to the hospital and its patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Deter crime and provide order and control during the shift within the boundaries of the assigned post.
  • Patrol the facility or stand a post as instructed and serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions.
  • Respond to all incidents as dispatched, providing assistance as needed, protecting personnel and property within reason, and securing the incident scene until properly relieved.
  • Conduct initial investigations of incidents and complete all appropriate reports.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years old (21 for Armed or Taser positions).
  • Have a high school diploma, college degree, or GED. Education must be verifiable through the background vendor.
  • Have 5 years of work experience within the last 5 years, with a minimum of 2 years verifiable work history.
  • Pass a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Hold a valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying.
  • For driving positions, possess a valid driver's license with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle.
  • Have effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional and effective manner.
  • Be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting.
  • Meet the physical and mental functions required for the role, including climbing stairs, bending, twisting, and running as needed.

Grooming and Uniform Standards

The following grooming and uniform standards must be met:

  • The uniform must be clean and worn properly, in a professional manner at all times.
  • No visible face or neck tattoos.
  • Fingernails cannot be longer than 1/4 inch from the tip of the finger.
  • The client's ID badge must be worn at all times while on client property.
  • Footwear must be slip-resistant.
  • Perfumes or cologne, or other smells that could impact patients with respiratory ailments, will not be worn in excess.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as appropriate to job roles and duties performed.
