Job Overview

OSAAVA Services is on the lookout for a dedicated Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to become an integral part of our Air Force / Space team. The ISSO will play a crucial role in supporting the United States Air Force's 53rd Wing Technical Support Services (53rd WTSS) contract.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in fulfilling their responsibilities.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and updating security authorization packages.
  • Ensuring that approved protocols are established for the clearing, sanitizing, and destruction of various hardware and media types.
  • Informing the ISSM of any changes that may impact the authorization status of information systems.
  • Conducting regular assessments of information systems to verify compliance with security authorization packages.
  • Coordinating changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and Authorizing Official/Designated Approving Authority (AO/DAO) prior to implementation.
  • Monitoring system recovery processes to guarantee that security features and procedures are effectively restored and operational.
  • Maintaining current and accessible IS security documentation for authorized personnel.
  • Collecting, reviewing, and documenting audit records, including any anomalies.
  • Participating in mandatory technical and security training relevant to assigned duties.
  • Executing the cybersecurity component of self-inspections, including providing security coordination and reviewing all system assessment plans.
  • Identifying cybersecurity vulnerabilities and aiding in the implementation of countermeasures.
  • Generating reports on the status of security measures applied to computer systems.
  • Performing ISSO duties to support both internal and external clients.
  • Conducting security impact analysis activities and reporting findings to the ISSM regarding all configuration management changes.
Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in information security.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution; 2 additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • An active and valid DoD M IAT-II certification.
  • Experience with DoD/USAF information security policies and practical application of Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Experience in developing or contributing to RMF body of evidence, applicable artifacts, and associated control families.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey accurate information effectively.
Security Clearance Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • A willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph examination.
Physical Requirements

The role requires:

  • The ability to remain stationary for approximately 50% of the time.
  • Occasional movement within the office to access files and equipment.
  • Frequent operation of computers and other office machinery.
  • Regular communication with colleagues and clients, which may involve presentations.
