We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at Unified Strategic Resources. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our personnel, facilities, and assets.
Key Responsibilities- Access Control: Screen and inspect personal and commercial vehicles requesting installation access, controlling personnel access by verifying identification/credentials, and maintaining desk logs, desk journals, and pass-down logbooks to document security events.
- Patrol and Surveillance: Patrol buildings or perimeters for suspicious activity, observing the behavior of all persons in the vicinity, and detecting and reporting any security breaches.
- Emergency Response: Take action in the event of emergency situations, such as fires, medical emergencies, or security breaches, and respond to alarms and notifications.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders, providing timely and accurate information regarding security incidents and concerns.
- Training and Certification: Participate in regular training and certification programs to maintain proficiency in security procedures, protocols, and equipment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; 2 years of education above high school may be substituted in lieu of experience.
- Experience: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, demonstrating knowledge of protective systems and techniques, and experience in protecting property against hazards such as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass.
- Certifications: Possess and maintain a current valid United States driver's license, and obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and proficiency in security procedures and protocols.
- Work Environment: Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
- Physical Demands: Required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
