Estimator II Job Description

Overview

The Estimator II role involves performing estimating tasks on demolition drawings, ACM and Hazmat reports, and environmental remediation scopes of work. This position requires a strong understanding of market pricing and trends, as well as basic knowledge of all phases of estimating.

Responsibilities
  • Perform estimating on demolition drawings, ACM and Hazmat reports, and environmental remediation scopes of work.
  • Produce quantitative surveys and accurate pricing for comparison with change order proposals submitted by prime contractors.
  • Obtain and present unit pricing data.
  • Responsible for outlining changes, clarifications, and qualifications within an estimate.
  • Provide backup for estimates to be used during analysis, review, and negotiations.
  • Identify indirect costs and General Condition items within an estimate.
  • Possess and apply knowledge of unit prices and the material/labor component of an estimate.
  • Produce manpower estimates to coincide with unit pricing.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For New York, New York, this ranges from $90,000 to $120,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program. Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package, including competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
