YOUR ROLE AS A PART-TIME HAGAR HOUSE YOUTH CARE WORKER
In this part-time position, you will engage in a fulfilling day filled with significant interactions and transformative experiences. Under the guidance of your supervisor, you will implement daily therapeutic programming designed to promote independence among the youth in your care. As a mentor, you will teach essential life skills, social skills, and coping strategies, serving as a positive influence in their lives.
Your responsibilities will include organizing educational and recreational activities, ensuring that learning is both enjoyable and impactful. By utilizing the CARE practice model and the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) system, you will help create a safe and nurturing environment that prioritizes the emotional and physical well-being of each resident. Your understanding of the unique trauma backgrounds and triggers of the youth will enable you to anticipate and mitigate potential crises through effective de-escalation techniques.
Your meticulous approach to maintaining accurate and current documentation will contribute to the overall success of our holistic care efforts.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position offers a flexible part-time schedule, allowing you to work on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
- A passion for mentoring youth
- Willingness to learn and apply the CARE practice model and TCI system
- A bachelor's degree in human services or related experience is preferred, but other qualifications will be considered.
