Community Supervision Officer

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or provide documentation proving eligibility to work in the United States.
Required Education & Experience: All positions for community supervision officers necessitate the completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience. Candidates should have at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the level below the position for which they are being considered. Proficiency in keyboarding skills (or alternative skills) to effectively produce reports, documents, and correspondence using electronic word processing and other office technology is essential.
Specialized Experience is defined as progressively responsible experience acquired after obtaining a bachelor's degree, which demonstrates the ability to understand and apply the skills necessary for managing human behavior in this role. Experience in law enforcement, parole, custodial, or security roles does not qualify as specialized experience.
Maximum Age Requirement: First-time appointees to positions governed by federal law enforcement officer retirement provisions must not have surpassed their 37th birthday at the time of appointment. Applicants aged 37 and older with prior law enforcement experience covered under the Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS) may have their previous law enforcement experience deducted from their age to determine eligibility for the maximum age requirement.
Medical Requirements: Prior to appointment, candidates considered for this role will undergo a medical examination and drug screening. Upon successful completion of these evaluations, candidates will be appointed under provisional status, pending a favorable background investigation. Additionally, as a condition of employment, incumbents will be subject to ongoing random drug testing, updated background investigations every five years, and may be required to undergo fitness-for-duty evaluations as deemed necessary by management.
Physical Requirements: Officers must possess, with or without corrective lenses, good distance vision in at least one eye and the ability to read standard-sized print. Normal hearing ability, with or without hearing aids, is also required. Any severe health issues, such as physical defects, diseases, or deformities that pose employment hazards to the applicant or others, may disqualify the applicant.
