Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nutrition Specialist to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a Nutrition Specialist, you will play a critical role in promoting healthy eating habits and providing nutrition education to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nutrition education programs for various populations, including children, adults, and seniors.
  • Conduct assessments and provide individualized nutrition counseling to clients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other community agencies to promote healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to promote nutrition education and healthy eating initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in nutrition and health education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Foods and Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences, Home Economics, Health Promotion, or other approved nutrition or health-related degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in nutrition education, counseling, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nutrition or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adults, and seniors.
  • Knowledge of nutrition education principles and practices.
  • Experience with program development and implementation.
