Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Specialist to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a Nutrition Specialist, you will play a critical role in promoting healthy eating habits and providing nutrition education to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to clients, including individual and group sessions
  • Assess clients' nutritional needs and develop personalized plans to improve their health
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Develop and implement nutrition programs and services to meet the needs of our clients
  • Conduct outreach and education activities to promote healthy eating habits and nutrition awareness
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Foods and Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences, Home Economics, Health Promotion, or other approved nutrition or health-related degree
  • Associate's degree in science with two years of relevant nutrition experience in a clinical, public health, or institutional setting
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nutrition or related field
  • Experience working in public health or clinical settings
  • Certification in nutrition or health education
